External URL Menu Item (Joomla 1.5)

At some point, you may want one of your menu items to point to an item outside of your site - another website, for example. This article includes steps on how to create an External Link menu item type (in Joomla! 1.5) that points to an outside resource.First, go to the Administration area (the back-end) and go to menus. Inside the Menu Manager, select the menu where you'd like to create the External Link menu item type.

When you're in the Menu Item Manager, select the "New" button to create a new Menu Item.

From the menu that appears, select the "External Link" Menu Item Type.

Finally, fill in all the required fills in the parameters area. Once you save your work, the menu item will be active.
